Football: Super Eagles Victor Moses, Onazi absence for Corsica explained

The fear that Nigeria head coach Gernor Rohr may have snubbed some of the country's big names like Victor Moses and Ogenyi Onazi has been explained. Rohr named a 25-man roster for the camping in the French region of Corsica and Paris without big guns like Mikel John Obi, Carl Ikeme, Ogenyi Onazi, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye.

Chelsea's Ola Aina and Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi were also excused from joining the camp in Corsica from its opening day on 24 May since they are possibly expected to be among the squads for their clubs in the English FA Cup final on 27 May.
"Most of the other players like Ogenyi Onazi, Victor Moses and co who were not named in this list for the camping in France would be called up for the game against Bafana Bafana of South Africa. The reason is because most of them will still be busy with their clubs, who will be wrapping up the season," Super Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye explained to supersport.com.
The spokesman also explained that the camping period falls outside of the Fifa free window period.
Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Ikeme is currently the only player ruled out for the game against Bafana Bafana, billed for Uyo on 10 June.
Nigeria captain Mikel remains a doubt after undergoing surgery for an abdominal strain.
